There is no return.
Only reflection, reassembly and reimagining

Take a deep breath, walk through the door, and dive in to the deep, interior world of young people in our time. Alternately disorienting and grounding, togetheragain is a 360 degree portrait, an immersive story in three chapters told through music, poetry, voice, photography, film, sculpture and more.

Curated by YPC’s Founder and Artistic Director, Francisco J. Núñez, this transformative sensory installation is a celebration of unity, of light after darkness..but also of passing clouds of pain, fear, burnout, uncertainty and overwhelm. It explores the rising mental health issues amongst young people in New York City, while at the same time expressing the joy, salvation and hope that is found in community, in art, and in song.

Get lost in the voices, be inspired by the beauty, and find yourself again, over and over, in togetheragain.

Chapter 1

This Place Meant

Take a deep breath, walk through the door, and dive in to the deep, interior world of young people in our time. Alternately disorienting and grounding, Anxiety. Depression. Social media. The pandemic. Isolation. Pressure. Fear. Hope. Resilience. Community. These are the themes you will hear in the mix as you progress through the first chapter of the installation. 100 choristers share their lives in verbal portraits presented as sonic sculptures: handmade vessels of wood, metal, glass, acrylic and audio that tell a powerful story of displacement and community.

Chapter 2

Poetry in Sculpture

Past the sonic cones you will find seven poems presented on pipe sculptures. Written and recited by choristers between the ages of 12-18, these tell a story of a journey through the self in isolation, of existing in a precarious balance, and of compassion in community.
